REIMAGINE NEWSLETTER: ISSUE 27
AUGMENTING EDUCATION: A VIRTUAL FUTURE?
Dear Reimaginer,
Take one of the world’s pre-eminent technology companies, an award-winning virtual reality startup, and the US’s #1 university for innovation – and what do you get? The answer, we hope, is an outstanding example of intersectoral collaboration, and an unmissable Reimagine Education panel.
We’re delighted to confirm that our 2016 Reimagine Education Overall Winner, acclaimed virtual reality provider Labster, have gone from strength-to-strength since they were deemed worthy of our most prestigious “Oscar” of education two years ago. They’ve continued to make manifest Reimagine Education’s core principles – collaboration, innovation, evaluation – and will be appearing alongside Google and America’s number-one university for innovation, Arizona State University. You can find out more about their panel here.
Also manifesting core Reimagine Education values are Amazon Web Services, whose AWS EdStart accelerator is also committed to helping edtech startups iterate, scale at speed, and build the next generation of online learning, analytics, and campus management solutions on the AWS Cloud. We’re also proud and delighted, therefore, to announce that AWS have reaffirmed their belief in the Reimagine Education vision by confirming their status as Overall Tech Sponsor. Read our official partnership announcement here.
Beyond this, you can also find contributions from our media partner, Education Technology, whose editor, Charley Rogers, examines the benefits and pitfalls of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) in an educational context; and from our partners at Penn Graduate School of Education, who warmly invite those interested in entrepreneurship in education to join their primer workshop for educators, entrepreneurs, researchers, and investors.
The workshop will be offered in two strands – one for those in the higher education sector, and one whose work is in the K12 space – and will run on November 28th, 2018 at the Wharton School’s San Francisco Campus: the day before the commencement of the 2018 Reimagine Education Conference. To learn more, check out their full invitation.
On the conference note: this really is your last chance to secure a discounted place at this year’s conference: the Early Bird offer must end Monday 1st October! To ensure you’re in the room(s) where it happens, secure your place today.
In the meantime, the judging process is still ongoing, and we’ll be in touch with applicants next week. We offer our warm and public thanks to all judges currently devoting their expertise and time to this year’s submissions – and we eagerly anticipate announcing this year’s shortlist.
Never stop innovating!
Kind regards,
Jack Moran
