REIMAGINE EDUCATION 2016: CONFERENCE REVIEW
DIFFUSING KNOWLEDGE: MEET OSMOSIS
Dear all,
With over 800 applications initiated last year, and with over 1000 applications this year, the competition to reimagine the future of education grows ever-fiercer, and the quality of application grows ever-stronger. This third issue of our bimonthly Reimagine newsletter provides the first opportunity yet for potential applicants to gain valuable insight into what makes for an outstanding Reimagine Education application.
First, we introduce you to our 2015 Overall Winner, Osmosis, whose platform, based on rigorous analysis and insight taken from neuroscientific theory, is transforming education for the world’s medical students. We then analyse what made Osmosis’s application outstanding, and enumerate some key points of which 2017 applicants should be aware.
This month’s Reimagine Spotlight is shone on Canadian ‘teacherpreneur’ Rich Baxter, who was shortlisted for last year’s Awards. His project, The Bootstrapping Checklist, is fostering entreprenurship among Toronto students, through an immersive, collaborative project-based learning initative.
Finally, we have formally opened this year’s call for judges – an outstanding opportunity for experts on education, educational technology, investment, or educational policy to find out what’s happening at the forefront of education – and earn a heavily-discounted ticket to the 2017 Reimagine Education Conference. More details about our criteria, and how to apply, can be found in our final article.
Regards,
